Line Editing Services
If you're an aspiring author looking to self-publish, I want to help you polish your manuscript and make it SHINE, line by line!

Line Editing is often overlooked in the manuscript process as most authors focus on Structural/Developmental Editing, Copy Editing, and/or Proofreading. I want to change that. Sentence structure and cadence are so important for a well-written book! My goal is to help you set a good tone, remove redunancies, and ensure your readers aren't pulled out of the story by awkward phrasing or lack of flow.

Below is an overview of the process for securing my services and what our partnership will entail. Please read through it carefully, and then click the link at the bottom to complete the Inquiry Form so we can set up a Free Consultation!
Initial Consultation
Once you have completed the Inquiry Form, I will reach out via email to set up a video call (via MS Teams, Zoom, or Direct with your phone number) for the consultation. We will discuss the details you provided, and decide on a non-refundable deposit, payment plan, and final expectations. This MUST be a video call - I want to ensure we meet face-to-face and both of us are comfortable with the partnership.
Contract & Deposit
After we have agreed upon the rate and terms, I will send you a Contract and Non-Refundable Deposit Invoice via email. This is due upon signing and returning the contract, will secure my services for the duration of the project, and cover the Initial Edit Sample. I will then expect to receive your full Manuscript within THREE (3) Calendar Days so I can start working on the Initial Edit Sample.
Initial Edit Sample
Once I have your Manuscript, I will complete Line Edits for the first TWO (2) Pages. This will serve as a sample so that you can see what the edits will be comprised of and ensure you want me to go forward with the rest of the manuscript. You will have TWENTY-FOUR (24) Hours to respond that I can move forward. If you don't respond in that timeframe, I will assume that you are no longer interested and void the Contract (keep in mind, the Deposit is non-refundable). This step is for you - I want you to see the work I will be doing and feel confident in the edits I will be providing.
Continued Editing & Payments
At this point, I will start working on the full Manuscript, and expect to see your payments come through on the agreed-upon dates, which I will then provide updates for where I am in your manuscript and a small sample of edits (ONE Paragraph). If a payment is missed, I will stop edits and reach out to you for an update - edits will not resume until either the payment is made or we discuss an adjustment. If you communicate with me before the payment date that you need to adjust/pay on a different date, I will adjust my editing schedule to reflect that. If that payment is missed again, regardless of communication, I will stop edits and the Contract will be voided. I am always willing to work with my clients who may be struggling, but I need to ensure that my time is being respected. If for any reason I need to delay edits due to illness or emergency, I will communicate that with you and we can adjust the schedule accordingly. Respect is a two-way street!
Final Payment & Project Completion
All edits will be completed by the final payment date. If I finish them early, I will notify you and you are welcome to pay earlier than agreed upon. Otherwise, once the final payment date has arrived, you will have a grace period of SEVEN (7) Calendar Days to send it. Your full manuscript complete with edits will not be returned to you until that payment is received. If it is not made within the grace period, and no communication is received by me discussing options, the Contract will be voided and the edited Manuscript will not be returned. If the project is completed successfully, you are welcome to reach out to me within SIXTY (60) Calendar Days of receiving your final manuscript if you have questions or need clarifications. I will be here to help in any way I can! I will follow up for your feedback on the experience and the edits I provided, as well as a request for written Testimonial to use on this site, or in any marketing/promotional materials if you are so inclined.
